More than two dozen charities are on the list locally to benefit from any shopping sprees at Boscov’s this week as the store holds its annual Friends Helping Friends event Wednesday.
The one-day sale, taking place Oct. 18, benefits over 3,000 nonprofit organizations, with more than two dozen signed up at the Lebanon store. Participating groups include Cornwall Community Cats Inc., Cub Scout Pack 412, and Lebanon Rescue Mission, among others.
Shoppers support these entities by purchasing a $5 shopping pass from the nonprofits, entitling them to the highest discount of the year – 25% off in-store purchases. Boscov’s will extend its hours Wednesday for the sale and will be open 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

“This event has developed into a wonderful opportunity for both our customers and non-profit partners and we believe the $3 million goal is realistic,” said Jim Boscov, chairman and CEO of Boscov’s.
