Shots Fired – On Oct. 19, police responded to the area of 8th and Church streets for a report of shots fired. Police located an unoccupied white BMW parked on the west side of North 8th Street, north of Church Street, with numerous bullet holes. Numerous spent cartridges were located at the northeast corner of 8th and Church streets. A single shooter appeared to be involved, and a witness described the suspect’s vehicle as a white Chrysler 300. Anyone with any information regarding this incident or the suspect vehicle is asked to contact Lebanon city police Sgt. Keith Uhrich or submit a tip through CRIMEWATCH.

East Hanover Township

Hit-and-Run – At 9 p.m. Sept. 28, a single-vehicle hit-and-run crash occurred when the driver of a 2000 Honda Accord failed to maintain their lane while negotiating a right curve. The Honda left the road on the left side and struck a tree, then fled the scene. No other persons were involved, and no damage to personal property was reported. The Honda was towed from the scene by Joe May’s Towing.

Heidelberg Township

Vehicle Accident, Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic – At approximately 4:11 p.m. Oct. 11, a crash occurred on SR 501 North. A 2013 Buick Verano was traveling south in the right lane of SR 501 North when it went into a nearby cornfield. The driver of the Buick reported that he fell asleep while driving and was not injured. The Buick was driven from the scene. Police charged the driver with driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Jackson Township

Identity Theft – At approximately 2:07 p.m. Oct. 15, a 43-year-old woman from Myerstown Borough reported that an unidentified actor created an Uber Eats account using the victim’s Social Security number and personal information. No monetary value was reported lost/stolen from the victim. The victim was advised to contact the Federal Trade Commission and the Social Security Administration, as her identity had been compromised. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194 and reference incident number PA2023-1347505.

Myerstown Borough

Vehicle Accident, Following Too Closely – At approximately 2:53 p.m. Oct. 10, a crash occurred on West College Street at West Stoever Avenue. A 2009 Chevrolet Impala driven by a 23-year-old Myerstown man was traveling west on West College Street and struck a 2014 Ford Escape driven by a 39-year-old Lebanon woman, which then struck a 2000 Honda Civic driven by a 17-year-old Myerstown female. All drivers were wearing seatbelts, and no injuries were reported. The Chevrolet was towed from the scene by CJ Wagner’s Towing. Myerstown Fire Department assisted on the scene. Police charged the Myerstown man with following too closely.

Palmyra Borough

Public Drunkenness – At approximately 7:02 p.m. Oct. 7, police responded to the 100 block of West Main Street and made contact with a 26-year-old Lebanon woman who was under the influence of narcotics. She was transported to WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital for evaluation. A non-traffic citation was issued for summary public drunkenness.

Bench Warrant – At approximately 5:27 p.m. Oct. 15, police encountered Damon Shoemaker, 25, on the 00 block of North Grant Street. Shoemaker was known to have an active bench warrant out of the Lebanon County Sheriff’s Department for failure to appear, with the original charge being retail theft. Shoemaker was taken into custody and transported to LCCB on the warrant.

Bench Warrant – At approximately 5:17 p.m. Oct. 12, police pulled over a gray Acura sedan on the 00 block of East Cherry Street and identified the driver as Jarreu Carter, 39, who was wanted out of the Lebanon County Sheriff’s Department for failure to appear, with the original charge being criminal mischief. Carter was taken into custody on the warrant and transported to LCCB.

Retail Theft – On Oct. 2, a manager at Sheetz, 811 E. Main St., contacted Palmyra Borough police to report a retail theft that occurred at approximately 11:54 a.m. that day. Police determined that a 28-year-old man concealed two cans of Four Loko alcohol on his person and walked out of the store without paying. The total loss to Sheetz is $5.60. On Oct. 10, a non-traffic citation was filed through MDJ Garver’s office, charging the man with one count of summary retail theft.

Richland Borough

Vehicle Accident, Careless Driving – At 7:40 p.m. Oct. 1, a crash occurred when a 2014 Nissan Quest driven by a 38-year-old Richland woman was traveling west on West Main Street, left its lane after negotiating a left turn and struck the rear of a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta, which subsequently struck the rear of a 2015 Nissan Rogue. The Volkswagen and the Nissan were legally parked on the right side of the road. The Richland woman was wearing a seatbelt and reported no injuries. The Nissan and the Volkswagen were towed from the scene by Leffler’s Towing. Neptune’s Fire Department assisted on the scene. Police charged the woman with careless driving.

Swatara Township

DUI Crash – At 9:30 p.m. Sept. 28, a single-vehicle crash occurred on Troy Avenue, east of Kenbrook Road. A 2016 Kia Optima driven by Cassie Clemens, 23, of Lebanon, was traveling west on Troy Avenue when it traveled off the road to the right shoulder, striking a utility pole and fence. Clemens was wearing a seatbelt and sustained a suspected minor injury but refused EMS transport to the hospital. The Kia was disabled and was towed from the scene. Police arrested Clemens for DUI.

Union Township

Vehicle Accident – At 6:21 p.m. Oct. 14, a two-vehicle crash occurred on SR 72 at Fisher Avenue. A 2015 Subaru WRX driven by a 20-year-old woman, accompanied by a 38-year-old man, both of Jonestown, was traveling south on SR 72. A 2018 BMW X3 driven by a 41-year-old woman, accompanied by an 18-year-old woman, an 11-year-old male, and a 5-year-old male, all of Carthage, New York, was turning left from SR 72 onto Fisher Avenue. The BMW failed to yield the right-of-way to the Subaru and was struck by the Subaru in the intersection. The BMW sustained minor damage. The Subaru sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Motter’s Towing. All occupants were wearing seatbelts. The 5-year-old male was using a front-facing child safety seat. No injuries were reported.
