Elected officials in Lebanon County will honor local veterans during a “veteran appreciation drive-thru event” on Saturday, Nov. 11.
The event will be held at the Lebanon Valley Exposition Center & Fairgrounds at 80 Rocherty Road from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., according to a statement from the office of state Senator Chris Gebhard (R-48).
Gebhard will be joined at the event by state Reps. Russ Diamond (R-102), John Schlegel (R-101), and Tom Jones (R-98) as they invite “all Lebanon County veterans and their families” to come by for recognition.
“Veterans will travel a pre-determined route lined with community businesses and supporters,” the release stated. “Free bagged lunches will be provided as well as Farm Show milkshakes. The elected officials will be there to greet and personally thank the veterans for their service.”
In a joint statement, participating state officials said they “are honored to host the incredible men and women who have served our country, as well as their families, as a small way to thank them for defending our great country. We owe them a debt of gratitude for the sacrifices they made so we are able to enjoy our freedom.”
The event is free. However, veterans and their families are asked to RSVP by Tuesday, Nov. 6, online or by calling Gebhardโs district office at 717-274-6735. Businesses, organizations, and supporters who would like to participate in the event may also sign up online or contact Gebhardโs office.
