We just recently concluded our Soup Wars and had our fill of some great soups.

Now back to our regular grind as we prepare for our next “Wars” series. We got a chance to go out for lunch during this hectic Christmas season. But the question was, where? One critic remembered a newer spot in downtown Lebanon that we could go to: Schaylor Brewing Company.

Located on the third floor of the Lebanon Farmers Market, Schaylor Brewing Company is a brewpub that has a couple dining rooms as well as high top tables in the bar area. The menu is set with plenty of bar food options as well as their own beer on tap and other local favorites.

For our meal today we got the Hot Honey chicken sandwich ($12.99) plus the french fries ($2.49), a Nessa Schmash burger ($12.99), and the kids mac & cheese ($5.99). Our pints for this meal were the Wake Up Witches ($7.50) and the Woody Barrelson ($7.50).

The hot honey sandwich comes with cheddar cheese, zesty pickles, slaw, and red onion. The hot honey was sweet with a subtle heat. The chicken is a thin breast on a well put together sandwich.

The Nessa burger comes with cheddar cheese, bacon, their own mac & cheese bomb, and BBQ sauce. This burger can get messy. The burger itself could have used some seasoning to it but it was overall a well composed selection. The addition of the mac & cheese bomb added a nice crunch to the bite.

Our take: Plenty of pub food options with some you won’t find elsewhere. We like the variety of chicken sandwich options. The food is good quality. The beer selections are available for sampling. The pints are pricey, but they are very good. Local brews and local spirits as well. We enjoyed our meal, and we feel you will too.

We give this place 🥓🥓🥓🥓.
