At Monday’s meeting, the North Lebanon Township Board of Supervisors unanimously passed the 2024 budget.

The budget was presented in full at last month’s meeting. Taxes will remain the same for the new year.

Small adjustments were made to the budget, including a police officer changing his health insurance from single to family.

The board also unanimously passed resolutions #25, #25, and #27-2023 setting the non-uniform and police pension plans, as well as the employee contribution requirement.

Supervisors also unanimously agreed to enter a three-year contract with IntermixIT.

The contract includes 3 percent increases each year, as opposed to a single-year contract with a 10 percent increase if renewed the following year.

In other news, the board:

  • Heard an update from supervisor Ardy Snook concerning the police regionalization committee. The current draft has funding apportioned based on census, which Snook opposes. Leading up to the next meeting, North Lebanon representatives will look into alternative apportionment methods.

  • Unanimously agreed to submit the third payment totaling $77,002.19 to DESCCO for their work on the Halfway Drive Bridge project this November.
  • Unanimously agreed to submit a grant application for the Marcellus Shale Grant for trees and trash and recycling containers at Lenni Lenape park and benches throughout NLT parks.
  • Unanimously agreed to allow New Covenant Christian School to hold a BBQ fundraising event at the dam breast at the intersection of Route 72 and Jay Street March 22 from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Unanimously agreed to release a letter of credit for $26,000 to Kenneth and Regina Martin, following the engineer’s recommendation.
  • Unanimously agreed to hire a resident on a part-time, as-needed basis to assist with shoveling snow at a rate of $30 an hour. Township manager Lori Books noted that his services will only be called upon in the event of an exceptionally large snowfall in a single day.
  • Unanimously agreed to pay $597.71 to replace hardware on a pedestrian signal head.
  • Heard public comment on Jubilee and police regionalization.
  • Unanimously approved the minutes of their Nov. 20 meeting, the Municipal Authority meeting Nov. 9, and the police regionalization meeting Nov. 16.
  • Heard reports including the fire chief’s and police chief’s reports.

North Lebanon supervisors meet at the township municipal building the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. The meetings are open to the public and do not require prior registration.
