A suspicious death in West Lebanon Township on Nov. 7 is being investigated as a homicide, police announced in an email Thursday.

The death of a 42-year-old Lebanon woman is also linked to a fatal crash later that day in New Jersey, police confirmed.

North Lebanon Township Police Department Chief Timothy L. Knight, in an email to LebTown, said officers were dispatched that morning to a residence on the 2000 block of Church Street in West Lebanon Township “to conduct a check on the wellbeing” of Teresa Sanchez De-Sena, who was found dead in the home.

The North Lebanon Township Police Department is handling the investigation in cooperation with the Lebanon County Detective bureau.

According to a brief statement issued by Knight on Nov. 8, officers were initially dispatched to the Church Street address to notify residents of the death of 52-year-old Alejandro Reyes-Moya, who was killed in a car crash earlier that day on Interstate 78 in New Jersey.

“Officers were unable to contact anyone at the residence,” Knight said in November. Later, Knight said, officers “were asked to check on the wellbeing” of Sanchez De-Sena. Officers entered the home and found her deceased, according to the report.

According to news reports in November, New Jersey state troopers were called to a crash scene at 4:13 a.m. along I-78 in Greenwich Township, Warren County. A report said Reyes-Moya’s Honda CR-V struck the rear of a Freightliner truck with a utility trailer parked on the right shoulder of the highway, and the driver “sustained fatal injuries.”

At the time, it was not clear if Reyes-Moya was suspected of foul play in Sanchez De-Sena’s death.

In his statement Thursday, Knight confirmed that her death was a homicide.

“Through the investigation it was determined that Alejandro Reyes-Moya, 52 years of age, is believed to be responsible for her death,” the release stated. “The two were in a relationship that recently ended.”

“It was determined that Alejandro went into 2015 Church Street in the early morning hours of November 7, 2023. He left the residence and was involved in a traffic collision at approximately 0430 hours off Interstate 78, in New Jersey. Alejandro succumbed to his injuries as a result of this collision.”

Knight said the investigation will continue “until we receive the final reports from the forensic pathologist and forensic scientist.”
