Heidelberg Township

Vehicle accident – At 8:25 p.m. Jan. 19, a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro driven by an 18-year-old Lebanon man and a 2022 Kenworth Northwest T880 driven by a 69-year-old Mohrsville, man were traveling east on SR 897 when the T880 attempted to make a wide right turn onto Hopeland Road. The Camaro was behind the T880 and attempted to slow down but was unable to avoid striking the T880 due to slippery road conditions. The Camaro sustained disabling damage and was towed. The T880 sustained functional damage and left the scene on its own power. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and reported no injuries.

Vehicle accident – At 10:39 p.m. Jan. 15, a 2005 Acura Integra driven by a 21-year-old Lebanon man was traveling east on Heidelberg Avenue (SR 897) when the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the curb on the left side of the road. The Acura continued across the road to the right side and struck the deck of a house on the 2600 block of Heidelberg Avenue. The driver was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. Police charged him with driving vehicle at safe speed.

Vehicle accident – At 7:11 a.m. Jan. 20, a 2005 Subaru Impreza driven by an 18-year-old Lebanon woman was traveling west on SR 897 near Prospect Hill Drive when the Subaru left its lane and struck a pole. The Lebanon woman was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. The Subaru was towed from the scene by CJ Wagner’s Towing. Police charged the woman with driving vehicle at safe speed. The Heidelberg Volunteer Fire Department assisted on the scene.

Vehicle accident – At 6:54 a.m. Jan. 20, a 2012 Kia Forte driven by a 22-year-old Lebanon man was traveling east on SR 897 near Hopeland Road, left its lane while negotiating a left turn and struck a tree. The Lebanon man was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. The Kia was towed. Police charged the driver with driving on roadways laned for traffic and driving vehicle at safe speed. The Heidelberg Volunteer Fire Department assisted on the scene.

Jackson Township

Vehicle accident – At approximately 6:25 p.m. Jan. 17, a 2019 GMC Terrain driven by a 20-year-old Myerstown man was traveling west on East Rosebud Road at approximately 65 mph while the driver was distracted with a cellphone app regarding a fire in the area. The man reported that he swerved to avoid a vehicle that was backing out of a driveway and subsequently struck a utility pole on the left side of the road. He was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. Police charged him with careless driving and driving on roadways laned for traffic and gave him a warning for driving vehicle at safe speed.

Vehicle accident – At 11:21 a.m. Jan. 16, a 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by a 47-year-old Lebanon man was traveling south on North Locust Street, left the road to the left shoulder and struck a fence. The Mitsubishi sustained disabling damage and was towed. The Lebanon man was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. Police charged him with driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Vehicle accident – At 11:10 p.m. Jan. 15, a 2016 Nissan Rogue driven by a 39-year-old West Lawn man was traveling west on Woleber Road, near the intersection with Hilltop Road, and failed to stop at the intersection and slid off the road, striking a culvert off the left side of Hilltop Road. The Nissan became stuck on the culvert. The West Lawn man was wearing a seatbelt and left the scene uninjured. Police charged him with driving vehicle at safe speed.

Theft – Sometime between 5 p.m. Jan. 18 and 9 a.m. Jan. 22, someone broke into a work trailer on East Lincoln Avenue and stole tools and supplies. The victim was a 41-year-old Richland man.

Millcreek Township

False alarms – At 3:52 a.m. Jan. 17, a person on Cocalico Road had a fourth false alarm within a 12-consecutive-month period.

Myerstown Borough

Identity theft – At approximately 11:10 a.m. Jan. 16, police responded to South College Street for an identity theft reported by a 25-year-old Myerstown man. Police said an unidentified person hacked into the victim’s bank account using the victim’s personal/identifying information and attempted to transfer funds. The bank temporarily froze the victim’s account, so no monetary value was lost. The victim was advised to contact the Federal Trade Commission and the Social Security Administration as his identity had been compromised and was provided a Victim/Witness Rights Guide, which contains the police incident report number for him to provide to his financial institution. Attempts to identify the actor were fruitless. No actionable leads were developed.

Criminal mischief under $1,000 – At approximately 5:50 p.m. Jan. 24, police responded to a vacant residence on West Lincoln Avenue where someone broke a window pane of an entrance door, with the damage to the door glass valued at $20, and smashed two light bulbs from an exterior sensor light. The victim was a 56-year-old Myerstown man. Anyone with any information regarding this investigation is asked to contact PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194 and reference incident number PA2024-103859.

Palmyra Borough

Arrest warrant – At approximately 8:03 p.m. Jan. 22, police pulled over a white Ford F-150 on the 700 block of West Main Street and identified the driver as Matthew Via, 39. Via had an active arrest warrant out of the Lower Allen Township Police Department, with the original charge being misdemeanor bad checks. Police took Via into custody on the warrant and transferred him to an LATPD officer.

South Londonderry Township

Vehicle accident – At 5:15 p.m. Jan. 19, police responded to the 1400 block of Mount Wilson Road where a 30-year-old Lakeville woman had been driving south, approaching the intersection at South Forge Road, when a truck pulled onto Mount Wilson Road. The woman braked, lost control due to snowy conditions, and slid into a Met-Ed pole. No injuries were reported. Lawn Fire Company assisted on the scene.

Vehicle accident – At 10:31 a.m. Jan. 19, a Mazda sedan driven by a 35-year-old Annville woman collided with a Ford pickup truck driven by a 57-year-old Palmyra man on Airport Road at Route 117. The Ford was stopped at the stop sign, waiting to turn, and the roads were snow-covered at the time. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Union Township

Vehicle accident – At 12:02 a.m. Jan. 20, a 2004 Dodge Dakota driven by an 18-year-old Jonestown man was traveling east on Fisher Avenue, exited the road to the right shoulder and struck a legally parked 2012 Nissan. The Dodge sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. The Jonestown man was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. Police charged him with driving on roadways laned for traffic.
