Editor’s Note: Michael and Nicole Borrell review Lebanon Valley’s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. The couple aims to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. LebTown is pleased to partner with LVFC to share these reviews with our readers. Bon appétit!
Welcome to the second season of our highly anticipated Lebanon Valley Burger Wars. Four entrants from the Valley will compete to be declared the winner of ‘Best Burger in The Valley.’
Our judgement will be based upon several factors including style and quality of burger, composition, messiness, and overall impression. We will only be judging two burgers from each restaurant and all burgers will be cooked to the same temperature.
This season will be slightly different as our Season 1 winner (Richland Railroad Diner) will be competing again to retain its title.
We continue our second season traveling north along 7th Street to the aptly named 7th Street Bar & Grill, located across the street from Sunset Market.

This restaurant offers a menu of seven burgers, with one being a build your own, ranging in price from $16 to $17. On Tuesdays they have a Burger Night special where you get your choice of burger, fries, and any draft beer for $14.95.
Our selection for judgement this evening was the Steak Burger ($16) and Bacon Jam Egg Burger ($17). These burgers come on a brioche bun with 8 oz. angus patties and fixings.
Our first bite impression was a noticeable seasoning flavor to the burger patty. As we bit through the fixings, even the egg, they complemented the burger well. The bacon jam was lightly added and gave a subtle, sweet kick.
Our steak burger was a simple and large burger. We appreciate the thick slice of tomato which adorned this one. We did have to add some ketchup to it, and a BBQ sauce would possibly be better on it. Both burgers were grilled to our perfect preference.
Did we just have the best burgers in the Valley?
Next up we will travel to our other entrants: Colebrook Tavern and our defending champion, Richland Railroad Diner. After which, we will announce our winner.
