An Evening with Super Bowl Champion Rocky Bleier at Church of the Good Shepherd

$30.00 – $100.00 | 7-8:30 p.m., Thursday, May 23 | 1500 Quentin Road, Lebanon

In celebration of Cornwall Manor’s 75th Anniversary and to honor our veterans, please join us for an evening with Vietnam Veteran and four-time Super Bowl Champion ROCKY BLEIER on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 7 PM at Church of the Good Shepherd, 1500 Quentin Road, Lebanon.

Just as Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rocky Bleier was about to wrap up his rookie season in 1968, the former Notre Dame standout learned that he had been drafted by the U.S. Army, which was immersed in the Vietnam War. In combat the next year, he suffered injuries that would reshape his life, but improbably, not nudge him off course.

The football player turned soldier turned injured veteran fought his way back to a professional football career that spanned more than a decade. In turn, he has used that story to inspire countless others not to yield in the most difficult circumstances. He has also donated time and energy to helping veterans like him reacclimate to the jarringly different lives they faced when they returned home.

Rocky is a member of the Congressional Committee for the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War and the Purple Heart Foundation. He is an active board member of the Warriors to Citizens Foundation which is devoted to helping soldiers, police, fire fighters, EMTs and their families recover from the psychological harm caused by career induced stress.

Be the Best You Can Be. Rocky Bleier’s presentation focuses on succeeding through perseverance, hope, commitment and trust. Framed through parallels to football and Bleier’s personal journey as both a war veteran and four-time Super bowl champion with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Bleier’s inspirational story will explore both the structural and emotional aspects for individuals and organizations to reach their greatest potential.
