The Annville Township Board of Commissioners held a brief meeting this month to discuss a panhandling and loitering ordinance and the planned renovation of the Annville Town Hall.
The commissioners unanimously moved to allow board solicitor Megan Ryland Tanner to review the proposed panhandling and loitering ordinance.
Western Lebanon Regional Police Chief Andrew Winters said the ordinance will allow the townshipโs code to be up to date with Palmyra Boroughโs code, which is an ongoing process in light of the recent merger between the Annville Township and Palmyra Borough police departments.

The board also heard an update on the Annville Town Hall renovation plans from Commissioner Nevin Hoover.
Hoover said the renovation would include various updates, including the meeting room and bathrooms. Additionally, the building will be brought up to ADA compliance.
Township manager Candie Johnson also said the parking lot will be updated with โno parkingโ signs to reflect where the parking lot ends and neighboring parking begins to avoid liability issues. Ryland Tanner clarified that there is no right of way or easement for town hall visitors to use the gravel driveway running from the back of the town hall up to West Church Street.
Hoover also mentioned the town hall meeting room is tentatively scheduled for completion by the upcoming election in November.
In other news, commissioners unanimously passed a motion to grant an additional parking space to the new residents of 13-15 E. Main St. Johnson said the township may consider a fee for additional parking spaces in future years.
Johnson also mentioned that code enforcement for the township is going well and that two citations were issued recently.
Commissioners unanimously moved to approve the June minutes, reports of standing and special committees, and payment of township bills.
The Board of Commissioners of Annville Township meets at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. Meetings are held in the township building at 36 N. Lancaster St. and are open to the public. Next monthโs meeting will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 6.
