Bon appétit!

Welcome to the inaugural season of our highly anticipated Lebanon Valley Hoagie Wars. Four entrants from the Valley will compete to be declared the winner of Best Hoagie in The Valley.

Our judgement will be based upon several factors including style of quality, composition, taste, and overall impression. We will only be judging one hoagie from each.

We continue our first season along 12th Street in Lebanon at Rocco’s Philadelphia Hoagies. They are located between Chestnut Street and Walnut Street.

This hoagie shop offers 12 different hoagie options on its menu in the $10 range.

Our selection for judgement today was the Diablo Italian ($10) with LTO, oil & seasoning and mayo on a soft roll. This hoagie comes with capicola, hot sopressata, coteghino, and sharp provolone.

This hoagie comes with the lettuce on the bottom and a bruschetta style mix of tomato and onion on top. The first bite immediately introduces you to the strong oil and spice. A robust flavor that will stay with you throughout this hoagie. We could have used more tomato and onion. This sandwich had a very even balance of all ingredients and stayed intact the whole way through.

Did we just have the best hoagie in the Valley?

Next up we will travel to our final entrant: Hauz ‘O Hoagie. After which, we will announce our winner.
