LebTown features a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.
Our Pet of the Week is sometimes available for adoption through a local shelter. Other times the weekly column will spotlight a local furbaby who already lives in a happy Lebanon County home.
This week, meet Duke!
Duke is a 2-year-old, 60-pound German shorthair pointer, according to his owner, Sean Drasher.
“Don’t let his stoic photos fool you, he is extremely emotive,” Sean says. “He loves nothing more than wrestling with other dogs, or his Dad. Typical for his breed, he is a extremely intelligent as well as a super-athlete. He is able to run circles around nearly any other dog. From a standstill, he is able to leap straight into the air to snatch toys off of the top of a the living room mantelpiece.”
Of course, Sean adds, “all that energy and athleticism comes with a price. He requires a lot of attention and a LOT of exercise. Which is good for our family as well. As is often said, German shorthairs are not a beginner’s dog!”
Congratulations to Duke for being this week’s LebTown Pet of the Week!
