Lebanon Transit announced today that it will be offering two times in November when fixed route customers will pay zero fare. The first will be Election Day, Tuesday, November 5. All customers riding on fixed route buses this day will pay zero fare all day long, even on trips happening outside of times when polls are open. It is all part an effort to help Drive the Vote by driving community members to polling stations across the county and the ballot drop box at the Lebanon County Municipal Building.
County residents can find where to vote by visiting the county Bureau of Elections. Lebanon Transit has also posted on their website a list of polling stations located within a half mile of fixed bus routes.
Then, beginning Monday, November 11 through Saturday, November 16, veterans and active duty service members can ride for free on all fixed route buses in recognition of Veterans Day. Veteran riders can simply board any fixed route bus and present the driver with a valid ID. Forms of valid ID include a VA card, active duty card, retired card, driver’s license with veteran logo, or DD214 discharge form.
Lebanon Transit reminds customers that its fixed route buses operate as a flag stop service. A person can simply wave to signal a driver to stop anywhere along the bus route. The bus will stop at the closest safe spot to allow boarding.
Route maps and schedules can be found online at https://lebanontransit.org/routes/, onboard all buses, at the Transfer Station at 7th and Willow Streets, or at Lebanon Transit’s main office at 200 Willow Street in Lebanon.
Shared Ride services are not included in either promotion.
