An early morning police pursuit in Lebanon city ended Wednesday, Dec. 11, in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 5th Avenue and East Weidman Street.
According to a news release, the incident began at 1:47 a.m. when a Lebanon city police officer observed a vehicle with an equipment violation. Police said the officer attempted to stop the vehicle after witnessing additional traffic violations, but the driver fled at a high speed.
The pursuit was terminated due to safety concerns, police said, but the officer soon found the vehicle involved in a crash. The fleeing vehicle had collided with another vehicle and a parked car.
The driver, identified as Darius Stuckey, 28, of East Petersburg, was found to have a suspended license and no insurance. Stuckey was taken into custody at the scene and transported to a local medical center for injuries sustained in the crash.
The second vehicle was driven by a Lebanon city resident, who was seriously injured and also taken to a medical center. Their identity and condition remain undisclosed.
Stuckey faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including aggravated assault by vehicle, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, and possession of marijuana.
The Lebanon County District Attorney’s Office’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is assisting in the investigation.
