The Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Lebanon County are hosting a workshop to teach local gardeners about sustainable garden design and native plants.
The workshop, “Garden Teachable Moments: Perennial & Native Plants,” will be held Saturday, March 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in classrooms 1, 2 and 3 of the Lebanon Valley Agricultural Center, 2120 Cornwall Road, Lebanon.
According to a release, the educational session will cover a variety of topics related to perennial and native plants, providing attendees with practical skills for enhancing their gardens. Subjects include perennial and native plant propagation, choosing the right plant for the right place, growing natives in containers, combining perennials and annuals in garden designs, and more.
After the workshop, participants can put their knowledge into action by visiting the Master Gardeners of Lebanon County Plant Sale on May 3 at the Lebanon Expo Center. Gardeners will have the opportunity to select the right plants for their unique spaces, while learning about native plants and their role in promoting local ecosystems.
