The Friends of the Annville Free Library’s Big Book Sale will be held at the Annville United Methodist Church from Wednesday through Saturday, April 23 to 26.

The sale kicks off Wednesday evening with an early-bird sale from 6 to 8 p.m. For an admission price of $5 per adult, readers can have first pick of the thousands of available books.

The three-day main sale is free and open to the public. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The event is held in the basement of the Annville United Methodist Church, 1 N. College Ave., Annville. Entrance is through the back of the church.

Hardcover books will be sold for $2, paperbacks for $1, until Saturday, when customers can bring grocery-sized bags and fill them for $5 per bag.

More than 7,000 “gently used” items will be available, according to the release. In addition to a selection of current and classic fiction, books have been sorted for easy browsing into categories including history, entertainment, gardening, science, biography, and travel.

An assortment of rare and collectible books as well as jigsaw puzzles, DVDs, and audiobooks will also be available. Young readers can browse in a room devoted to children’s books, some of which will be offered at half price.

Funds raised will support Annville Free Library with costs such as circulation, equipment, and special programs. Donations of gently used books are accepted year-round at the library. For more information about the sale, Friends’ membership, or how to donate large quantities of books, call the library at 717-867-1802, visit the Friends website at FriendsofAFL.com, or email friendsofAFL@gmail.com.
