Making a Difference of Lebanon, PA is proud to announce the winners of its 2025 Poetry and Community Service Scholarship Contests, honoring the voices and values of young people across Lebanon County. This year’s contests highlighted the importance of creativity, compassion, and civic engagement, and we are thrilled to recognize students who are truly making a difference—through both their words and their actions.

Scholarship contest

The scholarship contest was open to graduating high school seniors residing in Lebanon County, including those in traditional, cyber, or homeschool programs. Applicants were evaluated based on their dedication to service, the alignment of their values with our mission, and their plans to continue serving others through higher education.

“Our Mission is to build lasting relationships throughout the Lebanon County community by providing services to youth, veterans, and those in need, through Education, Service Projects, and Events.”

In addition to references and detailed records of volunteer hours, students submitted personal essays (300–600 words) reflecting on how their community service has made an impact—and how they intend to continue that work beyond high school.

The poetry contest was open to youth ages 7–18, divided into two age groups and themed categories:

  • Ages 7–11: Animals & Endangered Species
