A Cornwall Borough police officer was honored with a Lifesaving Award at last week’s borough council meeting.

Mayor Mark Thomas presented Patrolman Zachary Donmoyer with a commendation for administering Narcan to an overdose victim while responding to a call May 8.

Thomas said the victim was barely breathing and was turning blue, but that he started breathing normally after Donmoyer’s administration of Narcan.

“As a direct result of your heroic, lifesaving efforts, the individual was given a chance to continue living,” said Thomas. “Your professionalism and actions are of the highest traditions of the Cornwall Police Department.”
