The Lebanon County Early Intervention Program (EI), in conjunction with the Lancaster-Lebanon Interagency Coordinating Council (LICC), will be hosting our third Annual Family Playground Event – a family connection event for families served in EI. This event will take place at the Salvation Army Playground located at 1031 Guilford Street, Lebanon, 17046 on Saturday, June 21 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The Lancaster-Lebanon Interagency Coordinating Council (LICC) works to ensure that young children have access to supports, services and resources that help them develop and grow to reach their fullest potential. This coordinated effort occurs though the engagement of community partners, including early intervention, early childhood, and early learning partners, along with parents, advocates, government officials and community leaders.
Early Intervention services are provided to children with a developmental delay by Lebanon County MH/ID/EI (children from birth to age three) and the IU (children from age three to age five). The purpose of the playground event is to enable families in the program to meet other families in the program, discuss services, discover resources, make connections, and encourage different types of play.
In addition to fun children’s activities, this year’s event will include car seat checks, pediatric CPR demonstrations, an inflatable fire house, and chance to meet Bluey from 10 to 11:30 a.m.. Local agencies will also be present to share information with families including Align Pregnancy Services, Lebanon Library, Community Connections for Children, SARCC, WellSpan, Myerstown Library, and Lancaster Lebanon IU13 – Early Head Start/Head Start.
This event is free and is open to all families with children birth to age 5 years old and their siblings. In the event of bad weather, excessive heat, etc. event will be moved to an indoor gym. If interested in attending, please register by contacting dgray@sam-inc.org or 717-723-1638.
