The Foundation for Enhancing Communities has announced four grants that are available to nonprofit organizations in Lebanon and nearby counties.
The grants are available to agencies that serve south-central Pennsylvania in Cumberland, Franklin, Lebanon, Dauphin, Perry and/or northern York counties. According to a press release, the grant guidelines are:
- The Greater Harrisburg Community Foundation Benjamin Franklin Trust Fund Grant supports programs and services that work to increase knowledge and/or quality of life or that inspire positive outcomes for individuals and families.
- The Greater Harrisburg Community Foundation UPstream Grant seeks to improve local communities by supporting existing or new “upstream” systems, interventions, programs, or projects that attempt to create positive social change by addressing a problem at its source rather than managing its “downstream” symptoms.
- The Madden Family Foundation Fund assists 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that support disadvantaged mothers with children.
- The Please Live Fund assists nonprofits that tackle mental wellness education and suicide prevention measures in Pennsylvania, with special consideration to those whose goals assist K-12 students.
Applications will be accepted through Sept. 1, according to the release from Matt Caylor, vice president of marketing and communications for the Foundation for Enhancing Communities.
“These grants represent the power of community-driven philanthropy,” Jennifer Doyle, foundation president and CEO, said in the release. “They are made possible by individuals and organizations who established charitable funds at TFEC, turning ideas into lasting change.”
In 2024, the foundation awarded more than $650,000 through these grant programs, supporting 109 local projects.
“This work happens through collaboration,” said Caitlin Cluck, director of community investment. “By partnering with nonprofits who understand the unique needs of our communities, we amplify local impact and create opportunities for meaningful change.”
