As part of its ongoing bankruptcy proceedings, Rite Aid has added its store at 980 E. Main St., Palmyra, to the list of closing locations.

Rite Aids across the country are expected to close as part of the proceedings. Closings are being announced in waves to manage the flow of possible objections that may be filed.

Rite Aid previously announced closings for its Lebanon locations at 2 Cumberland St. and 415 S. 9th St.

In early May, Rite Aid entered voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings for a second time. The company said that it was pursuing “a strategic and value-maximizing sale process for substantially all of its assets.”

The company’s remaining Lebanon County location at 469 W. Penn Ave. in Cleona has not yet been identified for closure, but more closing locations are expected to be announced by the company in the coming weeks as it winds down operations.

Leases for the Lebanon County locations are among the more than 1,000 listed by A&G Real Estate Partners for takeover as part of the proceedings.

The 2 Cumberland St. lease runs through 2028 for the 10,645-square-foot store.

The 415 S. 9th St. lease runs through August 2034 for the 13,813-square-foot store.

The Cleona lease runs through 2028 for the 10,800-square-foot store.

CVS has acquired the prescription files of 625 Rite Aid pharmacies across 15 states, including Pennsylvania. Weis has also acquired prescription files from Rite Aid, although none from Lebanon County, according to published reports.
