Heisey’s Diner, a Lebanon institution just north of the city on State Route 72, was recently recognized by the Food Network in a nationwide list of “classic diners you don’t want to miss.”
The Food Network highlighted Heisey’s pot pie, coleslaw, and burgers, as well as its Friday night steak dinners. “You can’t go wrong ordering here, whether you’re stopping in for breakfast, lunch or dinner,” said the Food Network.

Heisey’s – originally Sprecher’s – retains its classic retro appeal and has also expanded greatly from the original Jerry O’Mahony Inc. dining car to include a banquet room, enlarged kitchen, and other additions over the decades. The diner has been operated by the Heisey family since 1968, and has been run by current owner Gary Heisey since 1989.
Heisey’s is located at 1740 PA-72 and is open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
