A 54-year-old Lebanon man was arrested after he was accused of sexually assaulting a young girl on multiple occasions over a three-year period.
Steven Seiders was charged earlier this month over the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile female between 2021 and 2024.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, Lebanon police began investigating the alleged sexual assault on March 27 after receiving a Childline report. The report identified the victim as a 14-year-old female, who was interviewed by a child forensic interviewer on April 14.
Lebanon city police detective Dory Martin also attended the interview and wrote in the affidavit that the girl said she had been sexually assaulted by Seiders at his residence on the 300 block of North 2nd Street, Lebanon, since 2021, when she was approximately 10 years old. According to the affidavit, the girl described multiple instances of sexual assault by Seiders continuing until she was 13 years old in 2024.
Martin wrote in the affidavit that Seiders was interviewed and denied sexually assaulting the girl, but admitted to kissing her on the lips “numerous times.”
Police said the investigation continued and Seiders was ultimately charged and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was taken into custody without incident, police said.
Seiders faces a half dozen felony charges, including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, criminal solicitation, aggravated indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor, and corruption of minors. He also faces several misdemeanor charges including indecent assault and endangering the welfare of children.
According to court documents, Seiders was arraigned Thursday, July 3, in front of Magisterial District Judge John W. Ditzler. He was confined at Lebanon County Correctional Facility until Saturday, July 5, before posting bail, set at $150,000.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 17 at 8:30 am. in front of Magisterial District Judge Kim R. Wolfe.
