Gretna Theatre invites guests to “step into the shadows” for “a chilling new twist on familiar urban legends” during an immersive theater experience this fall.
According to a release from spokeswoman Grayce Carson, patrons of “Whispers in the Dark” will “encounter mysterious figures, eerie tales, and chilling twists on urban legends, each crafted by local playwrights in collaboration with Creative Works of Lancaster.”
The show runs four times nightly from Oct. 9 through 18.
“Thrill-seekers and theatre lovers alike are invited to journey into the woods for an immersive experience that blurs the line between theatre and folklore,” the release says.
Shows each night begin at 6:30, 7, 7:30, and 8 p.m.
“This unique production transforms the natural setting of the forest into a living stage, where audiences move from story to story under the autumn night sky,” the release explains. “Part performance, part ghost story, the experience offers an unforgettable way to celebrate the season.”
Producing artistic director Michael Philip O’Brien said in the release that Mount Gretna “offers a rich blend of history and ambiance” that is conducive to the autumn performance.
“By bringing together the voices of local playwrights and the natural allure of the Chautauqua, we’re giving audiences a bold, immersive theatrical experience that invites them to step into the unknown,” O’Brien said.
