Motorists can expects delays on Interstate 78 this Thursday and Friday, Oct. 2-3, as PennDOT conducts inspections on bridges spanning Swatara Creek and an abandoned railroad about two miles east of Interstate 81 in Union and Swatara townships.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced the inspections on Monday.
Weather permitting, there will be daytime lane and shoulder restrictions from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days, with restrictions in place on the eastbound bridge on Thursday and restrictions in place on the westbound bridge on Friday, according to a release from PennDOT.
Travelers are reminded to be alert, to obey work zone signs, and to use caution when driving through work zones.
