Roots in work ethic
From an early age, Sherry Capello learned the value of hard work and integrity.
At age 12, she began helping in her father’s construction business, where she absorbed not just the mechanics of the trade, but the key lesson that “the client deserves an honest day’s work and to never be idle, regardless of your position or title.”

This grounding in the blue collar philosophy of service, accountability, and persistence became the bedrock of her leadership style.
Experience in public service
Before taking the helm as mayor of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Sherry Capello built her public service career through roles focused on planning, zoning, and community development.
Capello served as a county zoning officer beginning in 1987, then as an assistant borough manager and later borough manager in the borough of Palmyra, PA and finally as assistant director of community development for Derry Township, Pennsylvania.
In January 2010, Capello was sworn in as Lebanon’s 31st mayor. When Capello took office, Lebanon faced significant financial and perceptual challenges. Mayor Capello entered her first term with a projected large budget deficit and delayed audits.

Economic revitalization & infrastructure: Since 2010, investments of hundreds of millions in construction, upgrades in walkability and downtown assets, and new zoning for housing.

“I’m Sherry Capello. I believe Lebanon isn’t just a place you live—it’s a place you grow. Through responsible budgeting, enhanced public safety, and a brand that says: ‘This is the place to build your future’—we’re making Lebanon a city on the rise. I humbly ask for your vote on November 4th for Lebanon City Mayor so we may continue to move this city forward!”
