Lebanon city will begin side street clean up Thursday; vehicles must be removed

The City of Lebanon shared a schedule Tuesday for secondary street snow removal starting at 7 a.m. Thursday.

On Thursday, Jan. 29, the following streets will be targeted for snow removal by city crews:

• Weidman Street from Lincoln Avenue to 7th Street
• Canal Street from Lincoln Avenue to 7th Street
• New Street from Lehman Street to Guilford Street

On Friday, Jan. 29, these streets will be cleared:

• Mifflin Street from Lincoln Avenue to 4th street
• Guilford Street from Lincoln Avenue to 7th Street
• Brandywine Street from 11th Street to 14th Street
• Hanover Street from Federal Street to Walnut Street

The city said in the news release that all vehicles must be removed from these streets on the days posted. Any vehicles remaining will be ticketed and potentially towed to allow access.

The city also reminded residents to clean off and dig out their vehicles, citing a city ordinance prohibiting vehicles from parking within the public right-of-way for a period of more than 48 hours.

“Additionally, we appreciate the resident’s hard work this week to shovel out vehicles; however, city ordinance prohibits the placement of obstructions (i.e. orange cones, furniture, or other items) to save a parking spot in the street,” says the release. “Street parking is available for anyone’s use and cannot be reserved after cleanup from a snow storm.”
