Pet of the Week: Scooby

LebTown features a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.

The Pet of the Week sometimes features a local furbaby who already lives in a happy Lebanon County home. Other times the column spotlights an animal that’s available for adoption through a local shelter and is seeking a forever family.

This week, meet adoptable Scooby!

“Scooby was abandoned outside of his former home when his family moved away,” Pitties.Love.Peace rep Mika Stiefel tells LebTown. “It took months for them to catch him, although he was often seen sitting on the stoop or near the home.”

Just 3 years old, this cute boy is “fiercely loyal, silly, sweet” and has a “top notch head tilt.” He’s a sploot master, Mika says, although he appreciates a good pillow to rest his head on.

“He loves his toys, bones, and stuffies and doesn’t always like to give them up, but trades work like a charm,” she adds. “He thrives with a known routine and enjoys his daily walks. … He walks nicely on a leash, but can be vocal at times when seeing other people on his walks.”

Scooby is crate-trained and housebroken. He “could co-exist with other calm dogs or would be content as your one and only,” Mika says. He’s also “kitty approved, with proper intros,” and his ideal household will have no young children or dog-savvy children who respect his desire not to share his toys with them.
