Bethel Township

Vehicle accident – At 9:53 a.m. Jan. 17, a 2003 Chevrolet Trail Blazer lost control around a left curve on Mount Zion Road at Short Road and struck rocks on the right shoulder. No injuries were reported.

City of Lebanon

DUI, endangering the welfare of children – Around 1:30 p.m. Jan. 11, police responded to a crash on the 300 block of North 7th Street. Police identified the driver of the vehicle as Pablo Francisco, 31, and noted there were children in Francisco’s vehicle at the time of the crash. Police charged Francisco with DUI-alcohol, endangering the welfare of children, careless driving, and driving without a license.

Simple assault – Around 2:45 p.m. Jan. 26, police responded to a domestic disturbance call on the 1000 block of Steckbeck Street. Police said the individuals involved in the incident were previously known to each other, and one of them had visible injuries. Police took Adriana Zayas, 28, into custody and arrested her for simple assault (domestic violence-related).

Retail theft – Around 1:30 p.m. Dec. 31, police responded to a theft call on the 800 block of Bowman Street and were shown pictures of Ralph Shellenhammer, 70, taking multiple items from the store without paying. Police charged Shellenhammer with retail theft.

DUI, drug-related offenses – On Jan. 26, Frederick Polynone, 60, faced charges for DUI-controlled substance and multiple drug-related offenses. Authorities responded at around 10 a.m. Aug. 4 to a welfare check on a male driver on the 100 block of South 8th Street. Police identified the individual as Polynone. After determining that he did not require medical attention, police conducted a search of the vehicle, which revealed evidence of drug use, leading to Polynone’s arrest and subsequent charges.

Heidelberg Township

Vehicle accident – At 1:12 a.m. Jan. 23, a 2013 Dodge Dart driven by a 35-year-old Lebanon man, accompanied by a 30-year-old Reading woman, was traveling north on SR 419 when the man failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with SR 897. The Dodge traveled across SR 897 and struck an embankment. The man was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. The woman sustained a possible injury and was transported via Schaefferstown EMS to Hershey Medical Center for evaluation. The Dodge was towed from the scene. Police charged the man with duties at a stop sign.

Lebanon County Regional

Firearms not to be carried without a license, simple assault – At 2:13 a.m. Jan. 25, police responded to the 400 block of Springwood Drive in North Cornwall Township for a report of an assault. The investigation revealed that Matthew Cooper, 32, threatened a female subject with a firearm. Police apprehended Cooper and charged him with misdemeanor firearms not to be carried without a license, misdemeanor simple assault, and summary harassment.

Fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer – Police charged Luis Ayuso-Garcia, 32, with misdemeanor fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer. The charge stems from an incident on Jan. 21 in which an officer attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Ayuso-Garcia on the 1700 block of Quarry Road in Lebanon. Ayuso-Garcia failed to stop for the officer’s patrol vehicle lights and siren. Ayuso-Garcia eventually pulled over and was taken into custody without incident.

DUI, careless driving – Around 4:27 p.m. Jan. 19, police came upon a crash on the 1500 block of Joel Drive in North Lebanon Township. A witness alerted the officer to the driver of the crashed vehicle, who was walking toward Weis Markets. The officer stopped the driver just before he entered the store and identified him as Henry Sandoval-Pelico, 32, who was found to be intoxicated and without a valid driver’s license. Police charged Sandoval-Pelico with misdemeanor DUI-alcohol or a controlled substance, summary careless driving, and summary drivers required to be licensed.

Retail theft – On Jan. 8, police responded to Target for a retail theft, with one in custody by Target’s asset protection. Police identified a 16-year-old female suspect. The value of the theft was $478.62. The juvenile was released to a parent and charged with misdemeanor retail theft.

Retail theft – At 1:41 p.m. Jan. 28, police responded to Target in North Cornwall Township for a retail theft. The investigation revealed that a 26-year-old man and an unknown accomplice stole merchandise valued at $114 and left the store. Police located the man a short time later, took him into custody, and charged him with retail theft.

Arrest warrant served – On Jan. 30, police arrested Colton Allen, 22, who had an arrest warrant out of Lebanon County for failure to appear, with the original charge being misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking or disposition-movable property.

Myerstown Borough

Vehicle accident – At 12:52 a.m. Jan. 24, a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder and a 2008 Lincoln MKX were legally parked facing east in parallel parking spots on the right side of the 100 block of East Main Avenue. A 2018 Ford Escape driven by a 28-year-old Myerstown woman was traveling east on East Main Avenue when she fell asleep, left the lane of travel and rear-ended the Nissan, which then rear-ended the Lincoln. The Nissan and the Lincoln were unoccupied at the time. The woman was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. The Ford’s airbags deployed during the crash, and it and the Nissan were towed from the scene by CJ Wagner’s.

Vehicle accident – At 9:40 a.m. Jan. 21, a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 54-year-old Schuylkill Haven man, accompanied by a 42-year-old Schuylkill Haven woman, was traveling east on West Washington Avenue, and a 2014 Subaru Outback driven by a 67-year-old Wyomissing man, accompanied by a 64-year-old Wyomissing woman, was traveling south on North Railroad Street. The Chevrolet failed to yield after stopping at the stop sign and entered the road in the path of the Subaru, causing the Subaru to strike the Chevrolet. All occupants were wearing seatbelts. The driver and passenger of the Chevrolet sustained no injuries. The driver and passenger of the Subaru sustained possible injuries and were transported via Myerstown First Aid Unit to Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center for evaluation. The Chevrolet sustained major damage to its left side. The Subaru sustained minor damage to its front end. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Police charged the driver of the Chevrolet with duties at a stop sign.

North Londonderry Township

Theft of ‘cash back’ money – Police received a call at 9:56 a.m. Dec. 24 from a Walmart shopper who reported that they selected $60 “cash back” at a self-checkout register. The shopper forgot to take the cash, and when they returned to the store a few minutes later, they discovered the cash was missing. The investigation determined that Paul Velez Jr., 23, of Palmyra, took the cash and made no attempts to return it to management or call the police. Police charged Velez Jr. with theft of property lost, mislaid, or delivered under mistake.

South Lebanon Township

Drug possession – Around 11:10 p.m. Feb. 19, police conducted a check on a suspicious vehicle on the 500 block of Fox Ridge Lane and discovered that the driver, Elizabeth Callace, 40, was in possession of a large amount of controlled substances. Upon receipt of laboratory test results, police charged Callace with felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Assault of a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct – Around 7:46 p.m. Dec. 30, police responded to a domestic dispute on the 300 block of Acorn Circle. One of the residents, Erin Shutter, 21, repeatedly spat on the officers. Police arrested Shutter and charged her with felony assault of a law enforcement officer, summary disorderly conduct, and summary harassment.

DUI, drug possession – Around 11:18 p.m. Dec. 1, police pulled over a vehicle along East Cumberland Street and discovered that the driver, Paul Stong, 51, was under the influence of alcohol and was in possession of a controlled substance. Upon receipt of Stong’s legal blood test results, police charged him with misdemeanor DUI-highest rate 0.201%, misdemeanor DUI-incapable of safe driving, misdemeanor possession of a small amount of marijuana, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Driving while suspended – Around 1:13 p.m. Jan. 20, police pulled over a vehicle on the 500 block of East Cumberland Street and learned that the driver, Quirino Madrigal, 36, possessed a DUI-suspended Pennsylvania driver’s license. Police charged Madrigal with misdemeanor driving while suspended, DUI-related, third or subsequent violation, summary registration and certificate of title required, and summary operating without a valid inspection.

Drug possession, false identification to law enforcement – Around 11:10 p.m. Feb. 19, police conducted a check on a suspicious vehicle on the 500 block of Fox Ridge Lane and learned that an occupant of the vehicle, Jennifer Morris, 42, was in possession of a controlled substance. Upon receipt of laboratory test results, police charged Morris with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor false identification to law enforcement.

South Londonderry Township

Vehicle accident – At 1:01 p.m. Jan. 20, police responded to the 100 block of Bell Road for a crash and determined that a vehicle driven by a 40-year-old Palmyra man left its lane and entered the oncoming lane, causing a crash with a vehicle driven by a 22-year-old Elizabethtown woman. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Police charged the man with driving on roadways laned for traffic.

DUI, careless driving – Police charged Kelly Lombel, 41, of Palmyra, with DUI-general impairment, DUI-highest rate, driving on roadways laned for traffic, and careless driving following a traffic stop at 11:21 p.m. Oct. 22 on Route 322. Police stopped Lomel’s vehicle after observing several traffic violations, including swerving over the double yellow center line and driving in the wrong lane. A subsequent blood test showed that Lombel’s BAC was 0.213% at the time of the traffic stop.

Theft from motor vehicles – On Dec. 12, police responded to the Paramount Sports Complex in Palmyra for several reports of theft from motor vehicles after someone unlawfully entered vehicles in the parking lot and stole credit and debit cards, personal identification information, and other property. Police obtained security surveillance images from several Fulton Bank locations of a suspect who is believed to be involved in this case. Union Township

Vehicle accident – At 11:26 a.m. Jan. 17, a 2012 Mazda3 was in the left lane on SR 72 North at Allentown Boulevard and changed lanes in front of a 2021 Jeep Compass, striking the left front quarter panel of the Jeep with its right rear bumper. No injuries were reported. The vehicles sustained minor damage and were drivable.

Western Lebanon County Regional

Bench warrant served – Around 11:32 a.m. Jan. 24, police pulled over a white Chevrolet sedan on the 900 block of East Main Street in Palmyra and identified a passenger as Christopher Gibson, 48, of Palmyra, who had three bench warrants out of the Lebanon County Sheriff’s Department. One warrant was for failure to appear on a probation violation, with the original charge being possession of a controlled substance, and the other two warrants were for domestic relations. Police confirmed the warrants, took Gibson into custody, and transported him to LCCB.

Bench warrant served – Around 11:19 a.m. Jan. 29, police pulled over a blue Chevrolet Trax on the 700 block of West Main Street in Palmyra. Police identified the driver as Amber Riley, 37, of Steelton, and determined that Riley had a bench warrant out of the Dauphin County Sheriff’s Department for failure to appear, with the original charge being defiant trespass. Police confirmed the warrant and transported Riley to LCCB on the warrant.
