Editor’s Note: In 2021, Michael and Nicole Borrell began reviewing Lebanon Valley’s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. Since then, the couple has aimed to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. LebTown is pleased to be partnering with LVFC to share these reviews with our readers. Bon appétit!
Welcome to the second season of our highly anticipated Lebanon Valley Breakfast Wars. Three entrants from the Valley will compete to be declared the winner of Best Breakfast in The Valley.

Our judgement will be based upon several factors including style of quality, portion, taste, and overall impression. We will be judging at least two breakfast dishes from each restaurant.
Our second stop brought us to the west end of Annville for a popular spot that offers a weekend breakfast, Rotunda Restaurant & Brewery. This restaurant, known for its beer and lunch/dinner menu, has front and back bar room dining area as well as a few small intimate dining areas.

The menu offers a mix of traditional breakfast meals and some Mexican inspired dishes. Breakfast is served Saturday and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
For our breakfast today we got the Sausage Gravy and Biscuits ($14) and Southwest Omelette ($14).
The sausage gravy is house made and comes on two buttermilk biscuits and choice of breakfast meat or two eggs, as well as home fries. For us, we chose two over easy eggs on top. The gravy is rich with a savory flavor. The biscuits are thick and fluffy. On my first look, it looks like the portion size is on the lighter side, but as we dove in, it was more than met the eye.

The southwest omelette is two eggs, pico de gallo, caramelized onions, chicken chorizo, pepper jack cheese, and red pepper sriracha, and comes with toast and home fries. The freshness of the pico added an enhanced flavor to each bite. The chicken chorizo added a subtle filling note to make all ingredients blend well with no one flavor overpowering.

Did we just have the Best Breakfast in the Valley?
Next up we will travel to our final entrant: The Richland Railroad Diner. After which, we will announce our winner.
