DUI – Police pulled over a vehicle around 2:30 a.m. Nov. 16, after observing it travel in the wrong direction on the 100 block of North 9th Street. Police identified the driver as William Guad, 41, and determined that Guad was under the influence of alcohol. Police arrested Guad and charged him with DUI-alcohol.

Theft by unlawful taking – On the evening of Feb. 9, police responded to the 100 block of North 5th Street for a theft. Police determined that an autographed poster was stolen from a bathroom in a local business. Police identified the suspect as Joshua Hymans, 29, and charged him with theft by unlawful taking.

Endangering the welfare of children – Police took Georgia Bare, 41, into custody on Feb. 11 after an investigation into a report of a found child. The child was reported to be found around 5:40 p.m. Feb. 7, standing in the road on the 900 block of Chestnut Street. The child was reported to be wearing only shorts and shoes, unsupervised, in extreme cold weather. It appeared that the child was exhibiting symptoms consistent with exposure to cold weather. Police arrested Bare, the child’s mother, and charged her with endangering the welfare of children.

Community first – The Lebanon City Police Department extends its heartfelt thanks to Kingdom Outpost Lebanon for generously delivering 50 emergency aid packs to the police department on Friday, Feb. 6. These packs will be carried in patrol vehicles, giving police officers the ability to help neighbors in crisis, especially during late‑night emergencies when shelters or resources may be closed. Each kit includes first aid supplies, hygiene essentials, and cold‑weather items, such as blankets, hand warmers, socks, and beanies. The police department is incredibly grateful for this partnership and for a community that consistently comes together to support one another. The community’s compassion helps the police department serve better, respond faster, and uplift those who need it most.

East Hanover Township

Vehicle accident – At 5:08 p.m. Feb. 3, a 2000 Honda CRV driven by an 18-year-old Newmanstown woman was traveling south on Harrison School Road, and a 2016 Ford Transit driven by a 47-year-old Lewistown man, accompanied by a 42-year-old York man, a 44-year-old Harrisburg man, a 41-year-old Duncannon man, and a 40-year-old Harrisburg man, was traveling west on Allentown Boulevard. The Honda failed to yield after stopping at the stop sign and entered the road, striking the Ford on its passenger’s side. The driver of the Honda was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. The driver of the Ford was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained a possible injury, but was not transported. The 42-year-old York man, who was the front seat passenger of the Ford, was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained an injury of unknown severity, and was transported via Life Lion EMS to Hershey Medical Center. The other three passengers of the Ford were not injured. Police charged the Honda driver with duties at a stop sign. Police charged the Ford driver with restraint systems. Both vehicles sustained major damage and were towed by Blatt and Tillett Towing.

Heidelberg Township

Vehicle accident – At 9:25 a.m. Feb. 6, a 2017 Subaru Forester driven by a 41-year-old Shoemakersville man was traveling west on Heidelberg Avenue. The man sneezed, causing him to allow the Subaru to drift to the right, striking a mailbox and a high-tensile fence. The man was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. The Subaru sustained major damage to its front end, but no airbags were deployed. Schaefferstown Fire Company and Zimmey’s Towing assisted on the scene.

Harassment – At 2:03 a.m. Feb. 8, a 33-year-old Lebanon man pushed a 34-year-old Columbia woman during a domestic dispute on South Market Street. Police charged the man with harassment.

Lebanon County Regional

Retail theft – Around 10:14 a.m. Jan. 8, police responded to Hobby Lobby in North Lebanon Township for a retail theft. Police spoke with the assistant store manager, who reported that the suspect, later identified as Donna Heck, 61, entered the store, concealed merchandise, and exited the store without paying. Police charged Heck, who had two prior convictions for retail theft, with felony retail theft.

DUI – At 4:29 p.m. Feb. 2, police pulled over a vehicle on the 1600 block of West Cumberland Street in West Lebanon Township and found that the driver, Jose Casiano Jr., 24, was under the influence of a controlled substance. Police placed Casiano under arrest for DUI and charged him with misdemeanor DUI-controlled substance and summary registration and certificate of title required.

Bad checks, theft of services – Police charged Melissa Webster, 56, with two counts of misdemeanor bad checks and one count of misdemeanor theft of services. Charges stem from a check written on Feb. 5 by Webster to Leb-Myer Motors for auto repairs totaling $1,830.58. Webster wrote the check knowing it would not be honored.

Defiant trespass – On Feb. 10, police responded to Rutter’s in West Lebanon Township for a trespass. Police observed a subject matching the description given entering the store and stopped him as he exited Rutter’s. Police learned that Devin English, 34, caused a disturbance in the early morning hours and was told to leave. English returned in the evening and caused another disturbance, prompting the assistant manager to tell him to leave. When English returned again, police were called. Police took English into custody and charged him with misdemeanor defiant trespass.

Bench warrants served – At 7:04 a.m. Feb. 11, police responded to the 1900 block of Carlton Court in North Cornwall Township for a 911 hang-up incident. When police arrived on the scene, they made contact with Adrianna Thomas, 21, and determined that she had active warrants for her arrest out of the Lebanon County Sheriff’s Department and the Dauphin County Sheriff’s Department. Police arrested Thomas and transported her to LCCB.

North Londonderry Township

Vehicle accident – Police investigated a crash at 10:23 a.m. Feb. 11 at South Locust Street and Sweetwater Drive. A vehicle driven by a 19-year-old Palmyra man stopped for the stop sign on South Locust Street, but entered the intersection as a vehicle driven by a 25-year-old Palmyra woman traveled west on Sweetwater Drive. The man’s vehicle struck the woman’s vehicle, resulting in minor damage to both. Drivers were not injured and were able to drive from the scene. Police charged the man with a stop sign violation.

South Londonderry Township

Vehicle accident – At 4:23 a.m. Feb. 8, a 2022 Hyundai Kona driven by a 20-year-old Mars woman was traveling west in the left lane of travel on I-76 West near mile marker 259.9. For unknown reasons, the Hyundai exited the left lane and struck the concrete center barrier, then crossed both lanes and struck a snow-covered embankment on the right shoulder. The woman was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. The Hyundai was towed from the scene by H&S Towing. Police charged the woman with driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Crossbow discharged – At 1 p.m. Feb. 10, police responded to the 200 block of Valley Road in the Mount Gretna area for a report of a crossbow that was discharged toward a home. The incident is under investigation. Anyone with any information regarding the case is encouraged to contact South Londonderry Township police at 717-838-1376. Police are also asking residents to check their doorbell cameras for suspicious activity or people over the 48 hours leading up to the incident.

Residential fire – At 10:47 a.m. Feb. 10, police responded to the 900 block of Stauffer’s Church Road in Palmyra for a report of a residential fire. Police assisted with traffic control for fire company operations. Stauffer’s Church Road was closed for several hours due to fire suppression efforts. Campbelltown, Lawn, Hershey, Palmyra, and Middletown fire companies responded to the scene. The incident remains under investigation.

Western Lebanon County Regional

Aggravated assault – Around 9:47 p.m. Feb. 3, police responded to a home on the 100 block of East Cherry Street in Palmyra for a disturbance. Police made contact with a 13-year-old girl inside the home and, during the incident, the girl kicked one of the officers. Police charged the girl with felony aggravated assault.
