LebTown features a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.

Our Pet of the Week sometimes is a local furbaby who already lives in a happy Lebanon County home. Other times the weekly column will spotlight an animal that’s available for adoption through a local shelter and is seeking a forever family.

This week, meet adoptable Zola!

“She found her way to us as a stray and was not reclaimed,” a shelter rep at the Humane Society of Lebanon County told LebTown. “She weighs around 38 pounds, and is petite!”

Zola is a mixed-breed gal estimated to be around 2 or 3 years old.

“Zola arrived very nervous and scared in this big, noisy new world, but she’s coming out of her shell more and more each day and letting her sweet personality shine!” the rep says. “Zola is a gentle little lady who may take a few minutes to warm up to new friends, as she can be a bit timid at first. But after a little time, and a helpful hand-full of snacks, she’ll quickly become your new bestie! This girl absolutely loves treats and will never turn down a good snack.”

She’s also “super smart” and already knows “sit,” “paw,” “other paw,” and “down.”

“Once Zola feels comfortable, she soaks up all the affection she can get. She’s learned to love love and melts when she’s being pet by her human friends.”

Zola must be the only animal in her home at this time, the shelter notes, and she would do best with older kids aged 12 and older.

If you are interested in adopting Zola, please fill out the adoption application online at lebanonhumane.org or call the Humane Society at 717-628-1369 for more information.
