At the May 12 meeting, the South Londonderry Township Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a motion to authorize the revised data center ordinance for advertisement.

The motion included removing a definition of “continuous operational noise” and removing a reference to a bond associated with a decommissioning plan, prompted by township solicitor Patrick Armstrong’s recommendations.

Also part of old business was a 2025 audit report by Garcia, Garman & Shea, PC.

Under new business, supervisors unanimously approved a flag pole donation/installation at Campbelltown Community Park. Township manager John Eberly said the donation was from Campbelltown American Legion Post 831.

Supervisors also unanimously approved a stormwater management plan for 2279 S. Forge Road, which is a single-family residence plan with a pole building and a large garage accessory structure.

Also part of new business were quotes for the sealing and lining of the parking lots of Campbelltown Community Park, Lawn Community Park, and Country Squire Playground. Supervisors unanimously approved the lowest bid of $13,400, which will come out of the Recreation Fund.

As part of special orders, supervisors recognized the South Londonderry Township Highway Department for earning the top prize in the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s annual Build a Better Mousetrap Contest.

“What makes this especially impressive is the cost savings. Contracting this work would have cost approximately $9,000 per speed table. Instead, our highway department completed both installations in-house for a total of just $5,400, including signage and pavement markings,” said chairwoman Faith Bucks.

“This is a great example of innovation, teamwork, and responsible use of taxpayer dollars. We’re proud of their work and grateful for their continued commitment to improving our safety in our community,” she added.

The highway department’s project will be automatically entered into the Federal Highway Administration’s annual Build a Better Mousetrap Contest, with prizes to be announced.
