The Lebanon County Early Intervention Program (EI), in conjunction with the Lancaster-Lebanon Interagency Coordinating Council (LICC), will host its 4th Annual Family Playground Event — a family connection event for both families enrolled in Early Intervention services and other families in the community. This event will take place at the Salvation Army Playground, located at 1031 Guilford Street, Lebanon, PA 17046, on Saturday, June 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The Lancaster-Lebanon Interagency Coordinating Council (LICC) works to ensure that young children have access to supports, services, and resources that help them develop and grow to reach their fullest potential. This coordinated effort occurs through the engagement of community partners, including early intervention, early childhood, and early learning programs, along with parents, advocates, government officials, and community leaders.
Early Intervention services are provided to children with developmental delays by Lebanon County MH/ID/EI (children from birth to age three) and Lancaster-Lebanon IU13 (children ages three to five). The purpose of the playground event is to provide families enrolled in Early Intervention programs with opportunities to meet other families, discuss services, discover resources, make connections, and encourage various types of play.
In addition to fun children’s activities, this year’s event will include a visit from Peppa Pig, cuddles with farmyard animals from Batz Farm, pediatric CPR demonstrations, car seat checks, vendor tables, snow cones, a firetruck, and more. Local agencies will also be present to share information with families, including Align Pregnancy Services, Lebanon Community Library, Lebanon County Health Services, Early Head Start, Head Start, The Foundation for Enhancing Communities, The Arc, Community Connections for Children,Service Access & Management, Inc., Lebanon County Early Intervention, and Lancaster-Lebanon IU13.
This free event is open to all families with children from birth to age five and their siblings. In the event of bad weather, excessive heat, or other unsafe conditions, the event will be moved indoors. Families interested in attending may register by contacting dgray@sam-inc.org or calling 717-723-1638. Registration is appreciated, but not required.
