The North Cornwall Township Board of Supervisors approved a bid of $35,430 from Palmyra-based Custer Excavating for manhole installation and modifications in conjunction with the new Dairy Road Pump Station.
Supervisor William Yeagley was absent.
The bid was for a revised version of the project to use battery power instead of permanent electric, after original bids for the manhole and conduit installation project came in at $60,000 over budget and were rejected.
In other news, supervisors:
- Approved the appointment of supervisor William Yeagley and township manager Justin Thompson to serve on a regional fire development steering committee that will look at forming a more sustainable regional fire commission. West Cornwall Township supervisors have also signed a letter of intent for the committee.
- Approved making North Cornwall Commons Phase 1 and 1A sanitary sewer financial security reductions in the amount of $27,082.55, Phase 3 for $4,115.40, and Phase 3 Revised for $19,339.
- Approved placement of temporary parking restrictions along Rocherty and Cornwall roads by the Lebanon Valley Expo Center on July 4 and Aug. 1 when fireworks are planned.
- Discussed a Cornwall Borough letter regarding joint municipal zoning and agreed to request additional information prior to proceeding.
- Approved advertisement of public hearing for a cable franchise agreement planned for 6 p.m. on June 16.
- Approved the treasurer’s report to be filed for annual audit.
North Cornwall Township supervisors meet at 330 S. 18th St. on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. Their next meeting is June 16.
