Lebanon County authorities arrested a 25-year-old Annville Township man Tuesday on charges of sexual abuse of children and criminal use of a communication facility.
Michael Eugene Pavasco, of the 200 block of South Lancaster Street, was taken into custody after the Lebanon County Human Trafficking Task Force executed a search warrant at his home during the morning hours of June 30, according to the Lebanon County District Attorney’s Office.
Pavasco is charged with three counts of criminal attempt to commit sexual abuse of children, three counts of sexual abuse of children — all third-degree felonies — and one count of criminal use of a communication facility.
The investigation began after Detective Jared Henry of the Western Lebanon County Regional Police Department, a member of the task force, received cyber tips alleging Pavasco uploaded three separate files of child pornography to Discord, an online messaging platform.
Henry obtained records from multiple sources confirming the Discord account and uploads were associated with Pavasco and linked to his Annville Township address, authorities said.
After his arrest, Pavasco admitted to using Discord to upload child pornography and confirmed the phone number and email associated with the uploads were his, according to the district attorney’s office.
The task force operates under an Internet Crimes Against Children agreement, which provides local law enforcement with cyber tips involving online sexual offenses against children.
Magisterial District Justice Anthony Verna arraigned Pavasco, who was released after posting bail of $25,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 9 in front of Magisterial District Judge John Ditzler.
