Gretna Music is proud to announce the 40th Annual Mt. Gretna Tour of Homes, taking place on Saturday, August 1, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This self-guided walking tour invites visitors to explore ten distinctive homes, three historic buildings, and outdoor art throughout the charming community of Mt. Gretna—rain or shine.

Now in its fourth decade, the tour continues to offer an intimate look at one of Pennsylvania’s most picturesque communities. Proceeds from ticket sales support Gretna Music, which is celebrating its 51st season of presenting exceptional live music—including classical, jazz, and world music at the Mt. Gretna Playhouse.

Among this year’s featured homes is “La Bella Zucca,” a charming 1900s cottage tucked along the tree-lined paths of Mt. Gretna. The owners purchased the home in 2022 and wasted no time diving into renovations. Inspired by the warmth of the interior wood beams and woodwork—which transported them straight back to cherished trips to Italy—the couple chose a rich Tuscan color scheme to guide the remodel. Eight stained glass windows are woven throughout the home, casting a soft, colorful glow that adds to its unmistakable character. The front porch offers a clandestine view directly to the open-air Mt. Gretna Playhouse—a fitting backdrop for a home that feels like a little piece of the old world, right here in Pennsylvania.

Another home on the tour is “The Cottage”. Originally built in 1920, has been lovingly updated and well maintained over the years, requiring only a few additional improvements. Though modest in size at 790 square feet, the layout is efficient and inviting. The front porch has become a serene retreat, perfect for soaking in the beauty of Mt. Gretna.

The map will also guide the tourgoer to three recent outdoor art installments and three historic buildings, including the Mount Gretna Area Historical Society.

The 40th Annual Mt. Gretna Tour of Homes is generously sponsored by Snitz Creek Cabinet Shop.
