Aleta Leone Babe, 82, formerly of Jonestown, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, at Salem Hospital in Salem, Oregon, where she lived with family for the last four years. She was the wife of Rodney K. Babe, who died on Oct. 13, 2017. Their wedding anniversary would have been on Oct. 17, and they are together again.

Born in Lebanon on July 31, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Warren Frederick and A. Leone (Carpenter) Daugherty.

She retired after working as a dental assistant and lab technician with her brother in his dental office, Warren F Daugherty DDS in Lebanon. She took great pleasure in her work, where she would make patients comfortable by talking to them and creating relationships with all of them. Aleta loved her family and friends fiercely. Her family and her children were most important to her, and she loved and sacrificed for them, always putting them first. She would love cooking and baking for them with food from the farm that she and her husband kept. Her next great love was for her pets. Over all the years, her cats, horses, donkeys, ducks, and chickens, but especially her dogs, were a constant fixture in her life and brought her tremendous joy. She was also full of stories from her full life with her husband and kids and was happy to share them with people to lift them up whenever they needed it.

She is survived by her three children, Billie C. Petron, and her family, Joe, Kory, and Benjamin, Jackie B. McKinney, and her family, Joe, Michelle, and Jonathan, and Dr. R. Scott Babe, and his family, Ellen, Peter, Elisa, and Ryan; brother, Dr. Warren F. Daughterty; five great-grandchildren; and many loving extended family and friends.

The services will be held in the spring in Pennsylvania.
