Charlene E. Barton, 71, of Lebanon, passed away Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023, at the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital.

Born in Darby, PA, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Arlene L. (Reed) Barton.

Charlene graduated from Downingtown High School in 1970, graduated from Immaculata University in 1974 with her Bachelor of Arts in biology, and received her MBA in 1982 from Central Michigan University. She worked as a formulation support manager for Wyeth and Pfizer Pharmaceuticals for 18 years prior to her retirement. Charlene was an EMT in New York and Downingtown, PA.

Charlene had a love for animals, especially dogs. She truly loved her two Springer Spaniels, Barney and Bailey. She connected with the people in the community when she would ride her favorite scooter around the complex, talking to folks and handing out her doggie treats. She enjoyed collecting all types of frogs for display inside her curio, and anywhere they would hang or sit inside and outside her home. She especially enjoyed being a BINGO caller at her community clubhouse and was an avid GAME Channel consumer. She coordinated residents’ information and procured advertisements for her community’s directory.

She was the last of her immediate family. Her brother, John, preceded her in death in 2004.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services.
