David L. Troup, 83, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at his home. He was the husband of Tyna D. (Snook) Troup. On Oct. 9, they celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary.

Born in Beaver Springs on Nov. 13, 1942, he was the son of the late Charles F. and Dorothy P. (Aumiller) Troup. Following high school, he served with a MASH unit in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict and served in Korea during that time. He retired from the Lebanon VA Medical Center, where he worked as an ultrasound and x-ray technician. He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Lebanon. He was also a member of the Fredericksburg American Legion. He loved birds and birdwatching. He was an automotive enthusiast and was Mr. Fix-it around his home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Kristopher D. Troup, of Lebanon, and Nathan E., husband of Amy Troup, of Fredericksburg; grandchildren, Kacy, Jordan, and Rachel Troup; and sister, Linda Troup, of Beaver Springs. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Troup Jr.; and sister, Shirley Haines.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. There will be a visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Interment with military honors will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
