The Lebanon Valley Family YMCA is seeking dedicated School-Age Educators and Activity Leaders to join our team across multiple neighborhood locations for the 2026-2027 school year. If you love guiding youth through sports, STEM, and creative arts, we have a classroom for you. We welcome college students, retirees, and individuals with degrees or certifications to grow, serve, and make an impact in our community.

Duties
- Lead structured recreation: Coordinate games and playground activities
- Support academic success: Guide students through homework help and educational projects.
- Facilitate STEM & Arts: Lead hands-on enrichment activities from coding to creative crafts.
- Ensure a safe transition: Manage secure check-ins/check-outs to school from our program and from the school day to our program.
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills to create a positive learning environment.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development milestones.
- Experience working with children in daycare, camp, babysitting, or tutoring roles.
- Ability to perform first aid and respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Familiarity with special education practices and behavior management techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, and team members.

What You Bring
- Experience: Previous documentable experience coaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or mentoring youth ages 5–12. Must be able to provide 2500 hours of childcare experience.
- Education: High school diploma required; college coursework in education, recreation, or psychology is a plus. CDA, Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree required for some positions
- Certifications: Ability to pass background checks, plus CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to train).
- Energy: A positive attitude, strong boundaries, and the ability to keep up with active school-agers
