Frank Milford Gass, 75, of Richland, PA, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, at Southeastern Veterans Center in Spring City, PA. He was born on Aug. 31, 1950, in Lebanon, PA, to the late George G. and Pauline R. (Strawbridge) Gass. He is survived by his ever-loving wife of 50 years, Trudy L. (Eckenroth) Gass.
Frank graduated from ELCO High School in 1968 and earned a diploma from McCann Business School in 1970. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1970 to 1978 during the Vietnam War. Following his discharge, he was employed by Gass Plumbing & Heating and eventually earned his Master Plumber license. He retired from the facilities team at Hollywood Casino in 2013.
Frank was a member of Zion United Methodist Church of Iona. As a young man, he was proud to earn his BSA God and Country Award and went on to serve as a youth leader, trustee, and member of both the choir and handbell choir. Through the church, Frank led numerous mission trips to Appalachia, Mississippi, and Oklahoma. He served as a past commander and active member of VFW Post 6558. Frank was a Philadelphia sports enthusiast and was especially devoted to the Phillies baseball. An avid reader, he enjoyed a good book when there were no games to watch. He carefully documented more than 1,600 books read during his retirement. Frank found his greatest joy in being Pawpaw to his seven grandchildren and took immense pride in each of them.
In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by his children, Stacy Kreitzer, and husband, Jimmy, David Gass, and wife, Sarah, and Craig Gass, and wife, Kasie; grandchildren, Elena, Kaitlin, Chandler, Caroline, Elijah, John, and Frank; and brother, Michael Gass.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 11 a.m., at Zion United Methodist Church of Iona, 1920 S. 5th Ave., Lebanon, PA 17042, with Rev. Jason M. Armold officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Grose Funeral Home Inc., 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, PA 17067. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion United Methodist Church of Iona, Attn: Capital Improvement Fund, 1920 S. 5th Ave., Lebanon, PA 17042.
