John C. Brenner, also known as “Chicken,” 66, of West Lebanon, passed away on July 3, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife and immediate family at his home.
John Brenner was born on Dec. 7, 1959, in Lebanon, PA, to Donald Sr. and Anna (Whitman) Brenner. John was a devoted husband to Pamela (Moll) Brenner, with whom he shared 42 years. John graduated from Lebanon Senior High School and moved on to being a jack of all trades, from a disco DJ to a mechanic at East Lebanon Auto for years. John enjoyed a long career in the Public Safety Health Department and served the community of West Lebanon for more than 30 years, in addition to being a public safety code officer for Lebanon County and Camphill Borough part-time. John filled such roles at West Lebanon Township and as the Township Supervisor and Commissioner. John also worked in the public safety sector alongside the North Lebanon Police Department.
John was a lifetime member of the Speedwell Engine & Hose Fire Company and the Lebanon County Firefighters Association. John was a lifetime member of St. Luke’s United Methodist. John was a proud member of the PA Sports Hall of Fame. John had a passion for the outdoors, specifically fishing at the beach in Delaware and camping at Gulls Way and Eagles Peak permanent campsites.
John was a dedicated father to his daughters, Tiffany (Moll) Hatcher, wife of Alan Hatcher, Christy (Brenner) Chapman, wife of Michael Chapman, and Michelle Brenner-Desiderio, widow of Edwin Desiderio-Sneed and partner to Anthony Hornberger. John was an amazing grandfather to his grandchildren, Noah Brenner-Desiderio, fiancé of Missy Carpenter, Trinity Chapman, Alexis Chapman, Peyton Hornberger, Kavon “Vonny” Hatcher, and was a father figure to Amelia and Malena Moll.
John is survived by his loving wife, Pamela (Moll) Brenner; three daughters; and seven grandchildren. John is also survived by his sister, Donna (Brenner) Smith, wife of Richard; and several nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by his parents, Donald Sr. and Anna Brenner; and siblings, Sandy Heffelfinger and Donald Brenner Jr.
John “Chicken” did not wish for a service and wanted to be remembered by the relationships personally and professionally made throughout his lifetime. Memorial donations can be made in John’s name to the Penn State Cancer Institute.
