Margaret I. Wenger, 93, of Myerstown, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026 in the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. 

She was the wife of the late Carl I. Wenger who passed away in 2021. They shared 70 wonderful years of marriage. 

Margaret was born in Quentin, PA on January 31, 1933, a daughter of the late Monroe and Ellen (Steffy) Buffenmeyer, Sr. 

She was a member of the Myerstown Church of the Brethren and had been on the Wenger Foundation Board. She also was a long-time supporter of many 4-H and FFA organizations. 

She is survived by children: Lloyd and wife Kitty Wenger; Larry and wife Becky Wenger; Carol wife of Dennis Dieffenbach; David and wife Gwendolyn Wenger; Glenn and wife Robin Wenger; Rose wife of John Walmer; son-in-law: John Layser; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren; sister: Lois Heisey. 

She was preceded in death by a daughter: Nancy Layser; granddaughters: Renee Layser and Megan Walmer; Great-granddaughter Danica Layser; sisters: Verna Flory, Alma Jamison, Christine Dull; brothers: Monroe, Jr., Clair, Harold, Howard, and Dick Buffenmeyer. 

Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday August 8, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the Myerstown Church of the Brethren 51 W. Stoever Ave., Myerstown, PA 17067. Visitation with the family will take place immediately following the service. Interment will be private.
