Marlene A. Findley, 91, of Myerstown, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Linden Village, Lebanon. She was the widow of Loy S. Findley.
Marlene was born in Kutztown, PA, on Oct. 14, 1934, a daughter of the late Sally (Moyer) and Walter Garloff. She worked as an administrator at GTE / Verizon for 22 years, retiring in 1987. She was a 1952 graduate of Myerstown High School.
Marlene was a member of Zion U.M. Church and was part of the bible study, ladies’ group, mission trips, and volunteered as financial secretary. She was a member of the Needlework Guild, which did embroidery, sewing, and made clothing, birdwatching, and liked butterflies, gardening, and being outside, and was an avid reader. She took dancing lessons for ballroom dancing, trips to vineyards, Europe, the southwest, and river cruises, and enjoyed visiting her longtime pen pal.
Marlene is survived by her daughter, Lorna Rieger, wife of Ralph; son, Kevin “Kip,” husband of Lori Findley. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Erik Rieger, Kyra Boyd, and Bradley Hain; two great-grandchildren; and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her sons, James and David; and sister, Madelyn Himmelberger.
A graveside service at Mount Hope Cemetery, Myerstown, will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 11 a.m.
