Richard C. Kreider, 88, of Lebanon, PA, passed peacefully in the presence of his family on Friday, May 1, 2026, at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Carol J. (Shirk) Kreider. They shared 62 beautiful years of marriage, celebrating their anniversary on Oct. 19, 2025.

Born on June 22, 1937, in Lebanon, PA, Richard was a son of the late Joseph K. and Alice (Fasolt) Kreider. He was a 1955 graduate of South Lebanon High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

Richard was a lifetime farmer. For over 50 years, he also served as a dedicated Pioneer Sales Rep, building relationships that went far beyond business. He was deeply involved in agriculture and his community as a member of the FFA, Senior Extension, Friedens Lutheran Church, West Rim Lodge, Young Farmers, Farm Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, Lebanon Expo Center and Fairgrounds, Lebanon Area Fair Board, and served as a 4-H leader of the Lebanon County Livestock Club, celebrating 50 years of service in 2025.

But more than his titles and accomplishments, Richard will be remembered for his ability to truly connect with people. Whether you were a lifelong friend, a neighbor, or even a nurse or a doctor meeting him for the first time, Richard had a way of making conversation feel like catching up with an old friend. He had a way of making people feel seen, known, and valued. That gift left a lasting impression on everyone who crossed his path.

Richard found joy in life’s simple pleasures: time spent in the mountains, snowmobiling, playing cards, especially pinochle, and, of course, talking about farming.

In addition to his beloved wife, Carol, he is survived by his daughter, Jodi, wife of Heath Dresch; son Brian, husband of Jill Kreider; grandchildren, H. Tanner, husband of Katie Dresch, Kelsea, wife of Kory Miller, Luke Dresch, Landon Kreider, and Isaac Kreider; great-grandchildren, Carter, Jackson, and Darin Dresch, and Charlie and Kade Miller; sister, Barbara Simmon; and brother, Kenneth Kreider.

Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 3 p.m., at Lebanon Valley Exposition Center & Fairgrounds, 80 Rocherty Road, Lebanon, PA 17042. Visitation will begin at noon. Interment was private.

Memorial contributions may be made to Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital, 1249 Cocoa Ave., Suite 115, P.O. Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033.
