Robert E. Dohner, 94, passed away on April 15, 2026, at the Lebanon VA Medical Center.

Robert was born on Nov. 12, 1931, in Quentin, PA, to Henry and Elizabeth Dohner. After completing school, Robert enjoyed a long career as a steelworker for the iconic Bethlehem Steel. Robert married Rose M. Dohner, and the couple raised three children together: Ronald Crater, Robert Dohner, and Randall Dohner.

Robert was best known for working with his hands, and he seemed to be skilled at just about anything he tried, particularly woodworking. Robert also had a heart for music, dancing to bluegrass well into his golden years. Robert also served in the U.S. Navy from 1949 to 1953, a veteran of the Korean War.

Robert is survived by his wife, Rose Dohner; children, Ronald (Lynda) Crater, Robert Dohner (companion, Tina Bowman), and Randall (Wanda) Dohner; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Robert is preceded in death by his siblings, William Dohner, Nelson Dohner, Marion Schaeffer, and Joyce Rodkey.

The services for Mr. Robert Dohner will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 11:30 a.m., at Christman’s Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., with the visitation to start at 10:30 a.m. Graveside services will follow at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
