Ronald G. “Ron” Bair, 84, of Palmyra passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Eleanor M. (Smith) Bair, with whom he celebrated 51 years in marriage.
Ron was born in Lebanon on March 5, 1937, to the late Jessie E. and Esther M. (Kreider) Bair. He was a 1954 Cornwall High School graduate. He retired as an electrician from Heim Electric and was a member of IBW Local Union 143.
Ron was a former member of Palmyra Grace Church, where he served as an elder for several years. He was also involved with Bible Fellowship Church in Lebanon. He was a car enthusiast, and in his younger days was a member of a Hot Rod Club, Dragging Dutchman. In retirement, he restored a 1940 Pontiac coupe. Ron had volunteered at Harvey Cedar’s Bible Conference Center and Jubilee Ministries. Later in life, he recalled the value of being born and raised on a farm, and in his later years, he was able to work on a farm part-time.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a sister-in-law, Mollie Decker, and several cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Palmyra Grace Church, 799 Airport Road, Palmyra. Interment will be held privately at South Annville Cemetery. Following the memorial service, there will be a time of fellowship and a meal with the family at the church.
