Through the national Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA), Lebanon County households earning $54,000 or less are eligible for free tax preparation services.

The program is run by volunteers of the Lebanon County Money in Your Pocket Coalition. According to the IRS, VITA volunteers are often retired individuals associated with non-profit organizations that receive grants from the IRS. All VITA volunteers are IRS-certified.

Tax preparation sites this year include Lebanon Valley College (Tuesdays and Thursdays 4pm – 8pm), HACC Lebanon Campus (Fridays 9am – 1pm and 1pm – 4pm), and Grace United Church of Christ (Tuesdays & Thursdays, 12pm – 8pm).

Appointments are required โ€“ call 717-867-6054 for appointments at LVC and 717-273-9328 for appointments at the other sites.

Taxpayers will need to bring identification, W2’s, Social Security Cards or tax ID’s, a copy of last year’s return, health insurance documentation, 1099 forms, and the address and tax ID of any child care provider used.

Appointments are available through April 12.

VITA is run locally by the Lebanon Community Action Partnership in conjunction with the United Way of Lebanon County and RSVP of the Capital Region.
