Bethel Township

Theft – On July 6, 2020 at 10:54 a.m., troopers responded to Mountain Dr. for a report of a theft. Upon arrival on scene, it was determined the Victim, a 54 year old Fredericksburg man, was issued a credit card for unemployment. However, the Victim is not unemployed. The counterfeited item was one plastic credit card valued at $0.00. This investigation is ongoing.

Drug Possession – On June 23, 2020 at 11:34 a.m., PSP Jonestown stopped a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta at Fir St. and Sherwin Williams Dr. Indicators of criminal activity were observed and a search was conducted. Marijuana, marijuana paraphernalia, and methamphetamine paraphernalia were recovered. The Arrestee was a 28 year old Lebanon woman. Charges are pending.

Theft – Between June 27, 2020 at 12:00 a.m. and July 9, 2020 at 9:09 a.m., troopers responded to Golf Rd. for a report of a theft. Upon arrival, it was determined that the Victims, an 85 year old Lebanon woman and an 86 year old Lebanon man, unknowingly sent money to an unknown Actor after believing that they had won the Publisher’s Clearinghouse reward. The Victims sent $1,500.00 thinking that they were going to receive a large amount of money in return. The investigation is ongoing.

Vehicle Accident – On July 9, 2020 at 6:11 a.m., this crash occurred on North Center St., just north of Poplar St. This crash occurred as Operator 1 traversed from a private driveway in Unit 1, a 2007 Hyundai Sonata, to enter the southbound travel lane of North Center St. Operator 1 failed to yield the right of way of Unit 1 to Unit 2, a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze, causing Unit 1 to strike Unit 2. Unit 1 sustained mild damage to its front bumper at the 1 o’clock position and was able to be driven from the scene in its normal customary manner. Operator 1 sustained no injuries as a result of this crash. Unit 2 sustained mild damage to its driver’s side driver and passenger doors and was able to be driven from the scene in its normal customary manner. Operator 2 sustained no injuries as a result of this crash.

East Hanover Township

Vehicle Accident – On July 8, 2020 at 4:18 p.m., this crash occurred as both Unit 1, a 1998 Volvo Truck Tractor, driven by Operator 1, a 37 year old Providence, RI man, and Unit 2, a 2016 Kia Soul, driven by Operator 2, a 44 year old Baltimore, MD man, were traveling south on I 81 near mile marker 86. The weather conditions consisted of heavy rain. There was also heavy traffic congestion as a result of a crash which occurred approximately 4 miles south. Unit 2 was traveling in the right lane of travel. Unit 1 was traveling in the right lane of travel. Traffic had come to a complete stop and Unit 2 moved towards the right shoulder and came to a complete stop. Unit 1 attempted to brake but struck Unit 2 in the right rear corner, causing severe rear end damage. No one was injured as a result of this crash. Unit 2 was towed from the scene.

Vehicle Accident – On July 8, 2020 at 4:50 p.m., this crash occurred on I 81 South, in the area of mile marker 82.5. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2003 Freightliner Columbia, driven by Operator 1, a 58 year old Sinking Spring man, was traveling south in the right lane. At the time of the crash, a bad storm with torrential rain was passing through the area. As Unit 1 approached the area of mile marker 82.5, traffic began to abruptly slow in front of Unit 1. Unit 1 then activated the brakes to avoid colliding with any vehicles. Unit 1 then began to jackknife to its passenger’s side of the trailing unit. Unit 1 then struck an embankment on the right shoulder of the roadway and came to final rest. Unit 1 sustained damage to its driver’s side front suspension. Unit 1 also sustained damage to the rear of its cab as well as the passenger’s side of the trailing unit. No injuries occurred as a result of this crash. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by H & S Towing.

Vehicle Accidents – PSP Jonestown responded to 14 crashes on I 78 and I 81 between 1:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. I 78 was shut down at Exit 8 and I 81 was shut down at Exit 90/Exit 85/Exit 80. All traffic was rerouted to SR 22. PSP Jonestown and PSP Harrisburg collectively handled 3 Hazmat incidents (2 fuel spill/1 ground fiberglass particles). Lebanon County HAZMAT and DEP were notified.

Fatal Vehicle Accident – On July 8, 2020 at approximately 2:07 p.m., troopers from PSP Jonestown were dispatched to I 81 Southbound, in the area of mile marker 86.8. Upon arrival at the scene, it was discovered 6 vehicles were involved in this crash, which included multiple motor carrier vehicles. Traffic had come to a stop as a result of heavy rain and a crash at mile marker 82. For unknown reasons, Operator 1 did not notice traffic slowing or stopping. Unit 1 struck Unit 2 at a high rate of speed, causing severe front end damage to Unit 1. Operator 1 died as a result of the crash. The interstate was shut down until 1:00 a.m. The name of the Victim will not be released at this time. PSP Jonestown is investigating. Vehicle Accident – On July 10, 2020 at 4:00 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 1998 Ford Ranger, driven by Operator 1, a 43 year old Pottsville woman, and Unit 2, a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Operator 2, a 28 year old Minersville man, were traveling southbound on I 81 in the right lane of travel. Unit 2 was traveling directly in front of Unit 1. As Unit 2 was slowing for heavy traffic ahead, Unit 1 rear-ended the trailing unit of Unit 2. There were no reported injuries. Unit 1 was towed by Womers Towing.

Jackson Township

Theft – Between June 24, 2020 at 12:00 a.m. and July 8, 2020 at 5:44 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to Beverly Dr. for a report of a theft. The Victim, an 84 year old Myerstown man, reported they were missing $4,700.00 after unknowingly giving their bank information to an unknown Actor. The Victim provided their information, thinking they were going to be paid a reimbursement fee from Microsoft after discovering an issue on their computer. Investigation is ongoing.

Vehicle Accident – On July 1, 2020 at 7:59 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2018 Toyota Corolla, driven by Operator 1, a 73 year old Lititz woman, turned right at the intersection from West Main Ave. onto South Fairlane St. Unit 1’s passenger’s side mirror struck a mailbox on the 00 block of South Fairlane St. Unit 1 continued south along South Fairlane St. and then fled in an unknown direction.

Lebanon City

Harassment – A 13 year old male from Lebanon has been cited for Harassment after an incident on July 8, 2020 at 7:04 p.m. on the 200 block of South 4th St.

Disorderly Conduct – A 66 year old Lebanon man has been cited for Disorderly Conduct after investigation of an incident on June 19, 2020 at 11:04 a.m. on the 700 block of North 3rd Ave.

Indecent Assault – A charge of Indecent Assault has been filed against Kerry Reppert, a 45 year old Newmanstown resident, after investigation into an incident occurring between Oct. 2012 and Oct. 2015 when the female Victim was 13 years of age or younger. Reppert is accused of forcing the Victim to touch his penis. The incident is alleged to have occurred on the 400 block of North 13th St.

Theft – A Theft charge has been filed against Jason Chamberlin, a 52 year old with no permanent address, after investigation of a theft at his place of employment at 524 South Lincoln Ave. Chamberlin is accused of taking property totaling $416.60 over a three-day period between June 19, 2020 and June 21, 2020. A warrant for his arrest has been requested.

Simple Assault – A Simple Assault charge has been filed against Michael Rivera, a 32 year old Lebanon resident, after an incident on June 16, 2020 at 3:20 p.m. on the 800 block of Coleman Cr. Rivera is accused of punching the 26 year old Victim several times, causing the loss of a tooth and a fractured bone requiring the Victim to seek medical treatment.

Aggravated Assault, Robbery, Criminal Conspiracy – Charges of Aggravated Assault, Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Assault, Robbery, and Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Robbery have been filed against Jahmir Adams, a 17 year old Sinking Springs male, after an incident on June 2, 2020 at 11:35 p.m. on the 100 block of Pershing Ave. Adam’s charges are a direct file. He is accused of engaging in a drug transaction with the 23 year old Victim when it is alleged Adams pointed a rifle at the Victim and threatened to rob him of his drugs and/or money. Adams is accused of shooting the Victim in the leg, and then a second Suspect dragged the Victim from the rear of the vehicle and shot the Victim two times in the buttocks with a pellet gun. A .22 caliber casing was recovered from the scene. The Victim was treated at a local medical facility for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Adams has not been located, he has warrants issued for his arrest in Berks Co. and a warrant has been issued for his arrest for this incident. The rifle used by Adams has not been recovered. The second Suspect has not been identified and has only been described as a younger black male.

Millcreek Township

Theft – On July 8, 2020 at 1:00 p.m., troopers responded to Stricklerstown Rd. for a report of a theft. Upon arrival, it was determined that the Victim, a 55 year old Newmanstown man, unknowingly sent Amazon and Google Play gift cards to an unknown Actor. The Victim believed that the cards were being used as payment for a Microsoft Virus sweep on his computer. Investigation is ongoing.

Myerstown Borough

Missing Person – Between July 7, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. and July 8, 2020 at 6:00 a.m., PSP Jonestown responded to the 00 block of West Richland Ave. for a report of a runaway juvenile. Upon arrival, troopers were informed that the juvenile had not been seen since Tues., July 7, 2020 at approximately 10:30 p.m. The juvenile, Calvin Blatt, is described as a 15 year old W/N-M, 5’8″, 140 pounds, brown eyes, brown curly hair, and an athletic build. The juvenile was last seen wearing black athletic shorts. Anybody with information is asked to contact PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194. The investigation is ongoing.

Death By Natural Causes – Between July 8, 2020 at 8:30 p.m. and July 9, 2020 at 10:26 a.m., PSP Jonestown responded to East Main Ave. for a report of a cardiac arrest. Upon arrival, the Victim, an 87 year old W/N-F, was found deceased in a bedroom. It appeared as though the Victim died of natural causes. Nothing suspicious was observed at the scene.

North Londonderry Township

Theft – On June 28, 2020 at 1:39 p.m., a 59 year old Lebanon woman was charged with Theft after taking $40 at Walmart, left as change at a self check-out register.

Drug Possession – On June 21, 2020 at 5:15 p.m., a juvenile female was arrested after being found in possession of a vaping device that contained tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). The juvenile was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Drug Paraphernalia.

Stalking, Harassment – On July 8, 2020, Nicolo Villarreal, a 28 year old Hershey resident, was charged with Stalking and Harassment after a series of events involving an ex-girlfriend.

Retail Theft – A 38 year old Palmyra man was charged with 5 summary counts of Retail Theft for five separate incidents in the month of June 2020. Four times, he under-rang merchandise, and, one time, he failed to pay for 4 items. Total loss to Walmart, located at 100 North Londonderry Sq., is $198.70.

Union Township

Vehicle Accident – On July 8, 2020 at approximately 2:10 p.m., PSP Jonestown troopers were dispatched to a reported crash on I 81 South near mile marker 87. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2012 Volvo TR, was traveling south on I 81 South in the left lane and Unit 2, a 2014 Mack Trucks Mack, was traveling south in the right lane. As Unit 1 was passing Unit 2, Unit 1’s trailer subsequently struck Unit 2’s trailer, causing damage. Heavy rains were present in the area at the time of the crash. Troopers observed physical evidence that indicated Unit 1 struck Unit 2 as Unit 1 was passing. Unit 1 sustained functional damage to the passenger portion of the trailer. Unit 1 had damage which indicated Unit 1 struck Unit 2 as it was passing. The damage showed a sheared motion pulling away from the trailer and facing the rear. Unit 2 sustained functional damage. Unit 2 had damage to the driver’s side corner of the trailer. The corner of the trailer had portions of Unit 1’s trailer embedded into a welded area of the trailer.

Vehicle Accident – On July 8, 2020 at 2:18 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2019 Isuzu NPR Boxtruck, was traveling south on I 81 in the left lane near mile marker 87.8. Operator 1, a 38 year old Harrisburg man, attempted to merge into the right lane since he was approaching the exit he needed to take. Operator 1 attempted to slow down, when he struck the rear of Unit 2, a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado. Unit 1 then left the roadway and struck a tree off the west shoulder. Unit 1 sustained disabling damage to the front. Unit 2 sustained minor contact damage to the rear passenger’s side taillight assembly. Operator 1 and Operator 2, a 29 year old Minersville man, reported no injuries as a result of this crash. A Passenger in Unit 1, a 42 year old Mt. Holly Springs man, was entrapped and extricated from Unit 1. He was then transported via Central Medical – Cleona to Hershey Medical Center. A Passenger from Unit 2, a 28 year old Tower City woman, was transported via First Aid and Safety Patrol for unrelated issues. Bethel Truck Services towed Unit 1 from the scene.

Vehicle Accident – On July 8, 2020 at 3:30 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2019 Freightliner TT, was traveling in the left lane on I 81 South, north of mile marker 87.4. As Unit 1 was traveling south on I 81 South, traffic began to slow down. Unit 1 traveled into the right lane of traffic at this time. As Unit 1 was traveling from the left lane to the right lane, Unit 1 began to jackknife. At this time, Unit 1 impacted the 6 o’clock position on Unit 2, a 1999 Jeep 4X4, with the 12 o’clock position on the vehicle. After initial impact, Unit 1 impacted Unit 5, a 2005 General MTRS Corp Savana, at the 6 o’clock position on Unit 5. Unit 5 side swiped Unit 6, a 2016 Volvo TT, after its impact with Unit 1. The 7 o’clock position on Unit 1 impacted the 5 o’clock position on Unit 3, a 2019 Freightliner TT. Due to this crash, Unit 4, a 2014 Nissan Frontier, swerved left and impacted Unit 9, a 2012 Freightliner Cascadia, which was stationary on the left shoulder of I 81 South, with the 1 o’clock position on the vehicle. Unit 7, a 2020 Volvo TT, began to slow down in the left lane of travel on I 81 South at mile marker 87.4 to avoid the initial crash. At this time, Unit 8, a 2019 Ford Expedition, impacted the 6 o’clock position on Unit 7.
